Fun fact from wiki: Many people argue that Wolfgang Denzel saved BMW, due to the fact that in 1959 when BMW wanted to join forces with Benz and therefore not exist anymore, it was Wolfgang Denzel and a few other small shareholders who voted for BMW to stay Independent. He then engineered the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

Old school DLM fans will remember the NDRA. The days of the long, wide wedge bodies, with side boards on both sides of the car. Higher on the left side, with a 2 foot rear spoiler. These were built to maximize air flow over the body. CJ Rayburn, Mike Duvall, Billy Moyer, even Dorkquist, Charlie Swartz/Audie Swartz, et al......all piloted these monsters in the NDRA. Big block motors, and soft tires. This was the early 80's, where Sweet built his car, to mimic those cars, in the early 90's. The true Open Late Models. Cars similar to this, still run in Washington state, and Oregon.

Back on topic again.....sorry......

If the roof is mounted correctly, that is with proper front to rear rake, there is no lift on a decked body. And, if the body itself is mounted correctly, that is the nose is lower than the tail, there is no lift on a decked body. In fact, a decked body will have tremendous more downforce than a non-decked body. The entire body becomes a large spoiler. Thusly, a smaller rear spoiler will be needed.
